Andrew Chiappazzi is a freelance journalist devoted to covering multiple subjects. A 2008 graduate of Robert Morris University, Chiappazzi spent much of his four years in Moon Township covering the Colonials for the campus television station, radio station, and newspaper. He interned at 1250 ESPN Radio and 540 AM Radio Disney in Pittsburgh.

After earning his B.A in Communications, Chiappazzi began contributing to the Beaver County Times as a sports correspondent in August 2008. In his time as a contributor with the Times, Chiappazzi has covered WPIAL high school football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, baseball, and softball. He’s contributed to coverage of Robert Morris football and basketball, Duquesne basketball, Geneva College football, and University of Pittsburgh basketball. In January 2009, he was part of the Times’ coverage of the AFC Championship Game at Heinz Field.

Chiappazzi has also contributed to Rivals.com/PaPreps.com’s coverage of the WPIAL Football Championships in 2008 and to Deadspin.com’s 2009 NCAA Tournament preview. He spent two years as the college hockey beat writer for Faceoff Factor.

When he’s not writing here or elsewhere, Chiappazzi works as a part-time marketing assistant for a local Pittsburgh sports marketing firm specializing in athlete and entertainer appearance and as a photo specialist at a local retail store.
