Andrew Chiappazzi is a freelance journalist devoted to covering multiple subjects. A 2008 graduate of Robert Morris University, Chiappazzi spent much of his four years in Moon Township covering the Colonials for the campus television station, radio station, and newspaper. He interned at 1250 ESPN Radio and 540 AM Radio Disney in Pittsburgh.

After earning his B.A in Communications, Chiappazzi began contributing to the Beaver County Times as a sports correspondent in August 2008. In his time as a contributor with the Times, Chiappazzi has covered WPIAL high school football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, baseball, and softball. He’s contributed to coverage of Robert Morris football and basketball, Duquesne basketball, Geneva College football, and University of Pittsburgh football and basketball. In 2010, he became part of the Times’ coverage  team for Pittsburgh Steelers home games.

He spent two years as the college hockey beat writer for Faceoff Factor, and contribued to Deadspin.com’s 2009 NCAA Tournament preview.

In March 2010, he took over the Pennsylvania high school section of Yahoo! owned Rivals.com, PaPreps.

When he’s not writing here or elsewhere, Chiappazzi works as a part-time photo specialist at a local retail store.
